Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal Ligament and related structures - English labels
3D model of the Inguinal Ligament and the structures that are related to it. The inguinal ligament is a thickened part of the external abdominal oblique muscle aponeurosis. Several structures are closely related to it, such as the reflected (inguinal) ligament, the lacunar ligament (Gimbernath), and the medial and lateral crus of superficial inguinal ring. The iliopubic tract is a thickening of the fascia transversalis, that runs parallel to, and is the counterpart of, the inguinal ligament, recognized in laparascopic inguinal hernia surgery. Other ligamentous structures identified in this region are e.g. the pectineal ligament (Cooper's), and the iliopectineal arch. Overlays (green transparent) are used to show several of these structures, as they are specifically named parts of larger structures. This model contains a very small selection of the structures that are present in the model 'Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal and Femoral Canal and Surrounding Regions - English labels' The source model was created by the AnatomyTOOL Open3D Model Project.
