Evaluating information

You need information for a variety of reasons. To understand things, to get inspiration for solutions, to know how you to best handle certain tasks, etc. etc. When you have found a source of information, how do you know if you can trust this source? And if this piece of information is really useful for you? This building block is about evaluating information, using the CRAAP test. This is an HBO-ICT building block for Research in Education.

Citing information

Overview: Citing information When you write a paper or a thesis you have to include in-text citations or footnotes and a bibliography: your readers have to be able to see which sources you used. Making correct references can be a lot of work, but there are tools available to help you with this - reference managers. In this guide you see how you can use a particular reference manager - RefWorks -: to collect the information needed to make correct references to manage your references to create 'stand-alone' bibliographies and to create in-text citations or footnotes in your own document. Audience Prospective students, undergraduates, and pre-masters. Related.
