Research design canvas

With the research design canvas, students and researchers can formulate their research step by step. With the canvas the most important steps in the design cycle are followed and the choices made can be examined in connection to each other. This enhances the quality of the research proposal and the research process. The phrasing on the canvas has been adjusted to research on the intersection between social sciences and humanities. The canvas is suitable for use by student in university bachelor year 3 and later.

Students' Research for Society

This project expands the ‘existing circle’ of the role, societal relevance and impact of the work of the University. Why wait until students graduate and contribute to society in their professional activities? Let us not wase good students’ research! For instance, if your student has written a good paper on how to combat climate change in the court room, ensure that it reaches relevant societal actors such as NGOs, law firms or the government! We created a comprehensive overview of possible channels of how students’ research results can have societal impact (research, teaching, societal outreach). On this website, we offer a number of ideas that have been initiated by teachers at Utrecht University as part of ongoing courses or extra curriculum.

Research Data Management: Research data management

Research data management Research data management (RDM) is an important topic with increasing relevance for academics. Due to recent examples of researchers committing fraud by falsifying or manipulating research data, this topic has attracted a lot of attention. For students, it has led to stricter supervision and attention to plagiarism.
