Amateur Craft as Method-in-the-Making:

This research output documents a pandemic-era experiment in which academic researchers used knitting to record and reflect on their digital screen time, exploring craft as a critical research method and a tool for data sensitisation, feminist activism, and embodied knowledge making. Project Overview: A group of academics and amateur knitters from Maastricht University and partner institutions met online during 2020–2021, using knitting to document their own screen time over a week of lockdown. Their creative outputs—a collection of individually knitted rectangles—were later assembled as a tactile "knitted book" to display in arts and crafts contexts, as well as academic contexts. The project linked technofeminist thinking, craftivism, and artistic research practices, aiming to make visible both quantitative and qualitative aspects of technology use during social isolation. Main Topics and Learning Objectives: • Explore how amateur craftwork (knitting) can act as a research method to sensitise and interpret personal data. • Engage with concepts from technofeminism and critical craft studies to understand the role of tactile, embodied methodologies. • Foster social connection, experimentation, and reflection on digital dependency during the COVID-19 lockdown. • Develop awareness of how materials, technique, and individual interpretation shape both method and outcome in collaborative research. Audience: This work suits students, educators, and researchers interested in qualitative and artistic research methods, feminist theory, science and technology studies (STS), and creative digital-literacy pedagogies. It models interdisciplinary practice and encourages engagement with data, methodology, and making as interconnected experiential processes. Authors and Licensing: Authors: Denise Petzold (first and corresponding author), Laura Barendregt, Ruth Benschop, Anna Harris, Laudy van den Heuvel, Bernike Pasveer, Veerle Spronck, Sally Wyatt, affiliated with Maastricht University, TU Delft, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, and HKU University of Arts Utrecht. The text is suitable for publication in open educational repositories and supports open, collaborative engagement with academic craftwork. The pictures of the digitised version of the book were taken by Eric Bleize. Collage-making for self-discovery in engineering ethics

This creative exercise enables students to discover, reflect and express their emotions in relation to engineering. In this way, the exercise enables self-understanding through an encounter with one’s own feelings and intuitions and serves as a starting point for better ethical deliberation and well-being. Learning goals: • Expanding moral sensibility (being aware of their own emotions, values and norms) • Stimulating moral creativity and imagination

Week 4: Creating an Implementation Plan

Around an engaging video, a lesson has been built with specific learning objectives, activities, and supporting materials for students. The focus is on a key phase in the case-solving cycle: turning strategy into action through effective implementation. The instructors introduce a six-step framework that guides students in building a clear, realistic plan to bring strategic solutions to life. From setting SMART goals and allocating resources (using the MMM framework) to creating timelines, assigning responsibilities, and assessing risks, this lesson shows how to structure implementation at different levels. Using a case example, students see how thoughtful planning ensures feasibility and alignment across business functions. By the end of the lesson, students are equipped to translate ideas into impact with a well-structured roadmap.

Workshop: Introduction to Basics of Copyright for Students

This workshop aims to introduce students to copyright basics in an engaging way by having them analyze real life cases of (re)using works, and sharing or publishing what they created. The workshop provides the students with a practical and systematic approach. In applying that to cases the intended effect is that students are not ‘afraid’ anymore of dealing with copyright and (open) licenses and also know how to work within copyright and license allowances, thus avoiding infringement and complying with norms of academic integrity. The cases are chosen in such a way to make sure that almost all aspects of copyright and reuse are addressed.

ICF-based Tools and Practices to promote the use of ICF

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) is a linking framework for interprofessional collaboration and structuring the needs of a client. The need for practical training for professionals and the need for applications and tools to implement the ICF in clinical practice has been recognized. In total, 18 of the 20 planned development actions were completed. Four themes emerged: ICF training in the workplace (n=8), ICF videos (n=4), ICF tools (n=4), and ICF documentation (n=2). Bridging the gap between higher education and the work field was one of the ultimate objectives of the INPRO project. Much has been done, but it is clear that this work needs to continue in the future, in partnership with higher education institutions and working life. This report provides insight into how the developments were done and what the ICF-based tools and practices are.
