Buurtverbinding tools - docentenhandleiding

Open Education menu

We created a ready-to-use menu with 17 different Open Education practices to be implemented in your education. With each practice turned into its own dish and recipe, you can easily see how the practice can be implemented, with its difficulty level and examples. The goal is to provide you with ideas and examples on how to implement Open Science practices into your education. Or use the menu as a starting point for conversations about open educational practices with colleagues! Already an expert? The menu can also be used for a 1-hour workshop on Open Educational practices for others interested in Open Science. Let the participants select a dish from the menu they are interested in, and help them to adapt the dish so they can turn their own ideas into real practices.

The Stream-of-Consciousness (SoC) Dialogue Method

Using timed speaking turns, alternating roles (speaking and listening), and carefully crafted ‘prompts’ (sentence starters), this simple but potent method gradually moves pairs into deeper layers of exploration and sharing, while fostering reflection, attentive listening, and connection.

Object Orientation Pressure Cooker

What — This methodology fits research projects that use a concrete “surprising” object as the starting point of “more complex” inquiry. The methodology invites students: to make an inventory of different perspectives to study a central object, and understand what knowledge these perspectives will yield about particular elements of their research project topic; to understand the relations/connections between these various disciplinary perspectives and elements, and; to make an informed decision about which perspectives and elements to pursue and which ones to leave out For whom – The format can be used (and adjusted) for a seminar/working group of students (bachelor 3, honours and ma/rma students) as well as educational developers or teachers. Why – Guided training in object orientation supports the appreciation of multi-perspectivity (identity dimension and/or social-interactive dimension of interdisciplinary learning) which aids in grasping defining elements of various disciplines (cognitive dimension). How long—Depending on the context, it can be done as a quick starter or as a class-filling activity. In-class activities take up to two and a half hours. Preparation at home takes around two hours. You Have a Part to Play TOOLKIT

This toolkit is intended to provide educational innovators in higher education – lecturers and coordinators, for example, but also students or directors of education – with tools to give sustainability (both as a field of knowledge, as well as skills) a more solid place in their educational programmes. This toolkit was developed by the Radboud University project team 'You Have a Part to Play', made possible by the Comenius Network. The Comenius Network was established in 2018 with the aim of uniting teachers who are involved in educational innovation in further education. Sharing knowledge about educational innovation is central to this goal.
