This workshops lasts roughly 2,5 hours, and tackles the five basic OER compentencies as outlined by the UNESCO (Familiarity, Finding, Using, Creating, Sharing OER). The workshop is primarily meant for teachers looking to broadly familiarize themselves with the topic of Open Education and Open Educational Resources. The slides include a number of group discussion questions and assignments for participants to follow. For the quiz assignment, a link to the Google Form with the quiz is present. Making a private copy of the form is needed to ensure others do not change it. For the assignment on the benefits of Open Education, the playing cards for the OE game created by the European Network for Open Education Librarians (ENOEL) are needed. Publication strategies & Open Access: Choosing a journal to publish in

Choosing a journal to publish in Where will you publish your next journal article? With thousands of journals available it can be hard to find the right journal for your work. At the bottom of this page you can find an overview of tools that can help you create a 'shortlist' of journals to publish in. Some disciplines or research schools have developed journal lists, providing an overview of the journals most relevant to them. Aims & scope After creating a shortlist of suitable journals you need to check the aims and scope of the journals. Open Access options When choosing a journal the options to publish in Open Access can be important as well. All EUR-researchers are required to make their publications Open Access and most research funders have adopted policies that make Open Access publishing mandatory. AAbstracting and indexing information Where is the journal indexed? In other words: in which databases will researchers and students be able to find your article in their search results? Are these multidisciplinary databases, like Scopus or Web of Science, and/or discipline specific databases like EconLit, ERIC, PsycINFO or Sociological Abstracts? Are these databases you and your peers use? Tools to find journals to publish in Several tools have been developed to help you find suitable journals: these tools allow you to upload title, abstract and/or keywords of your article and – using data of articles already published - matching journals are shown. Some of these tools are publisher specific, others are publisher neutral. Journal lists Some disciplines and schools have created list of journals to publish in. These list are sometimes also used to evaluate researchers. Suggested.

E-Learning Module Urban Green Spaces

The University of Twente ITC together with Tropenbos Suriname developed this e-module on urban green spaces in the tropics in the context, and using the results, of their UTSN Twinning project on "Towards a green and more livable Paramaribo". With this e-module we aim to provide access to quality learning material for Surinamese and Dutch MSc students and other learners. This e- module is designed to be used in two ways, i) within a course, introducing students to the subject of urban green benefits and management. ii) as stand-alone short course. The module is entirely self-study and can be followed without an internet connection. Cite as: Schwarz. N. and Willemen L., 2021.
