Introduction to Urban Resilience

Dominic Stead introduces the concept of urban resilience and what is means for city planning and management. What does it imply for the way in which cities across the world are planned and managed? Stead reviews the challenges of operationalizing the concept as there many interpretations of the term. Yet, urban resilience can still be incorporated into the urban planning of cities to not only mitigate the causes of climate change but also develop adaptation measures that reduce the vulnerability of cities.
