Game Development with Students

The project Game Development with Students introduces interested educators to an innovative teaching tool with practical insights from the international relations classroom. Game development with students is a specialized form of game-based and project-based learning. It incentivizes both student creativity and in-class student-teacher co-creation and enables a particularly participative and result-oriented approach to the subject matter. The method is thematically flexible enough to travel across different fields of study and is adaptable to different levels of complexity. To enable other educators to implement this innovative teaching tool, we develop instructional materials (an educators handbook as well as educational videos), providing both general information on the experiential, game-based learning theory undergirding the method as well as practical, hands-on tips and trick on how to implement it in different educational settings. In doing so, we address the important, interconnected educational challenges of the transferability and sustainability of teacher developed tools.

Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal Ligament and related structures - English labels

3D model of the Inguinal Ligament and the structures that are related to it. The inguinal ligament is a thickened part of the external abdominal oblique muscle aponeurosis. Several structures are closely related to it, such as the reflected (inguinal) ligament, the lacunar ligament (Gimbernath), and the medial and lateral crus of superficial inguinal ring. The iliopubic tract is a thickening of the fascia transversalis, that runs parallel to, and is the counterpart of, the inguinal ligament, recognized in laparascopic inguinal hernia surgery. Other ligamentous structures identified in this region are e.g. the pectineal ligament (Cooper's), and the iliopectineal arch. Overlays (green transparent) are used to show several of these structures, as they are specifically named parts of larger structures. This model contains a very small selection of the structures that are present in the model 'Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal and Femoral Canal and Surrounding Regions - English labels' The source model was created by the AnatomyTOOL Open3D Model Project. Anatomical content: O. Paul Gobée, MD, anatomist, Leiden University Medical Center, dept. Anatomy & Embryology, Netherlands (inguinal and femoral canal, muscles of abdomen) Prof. Marco C. DeRuiter, PhD, anatomist, Leiden University Medical Center, dept. Anatomy & Embryology, Netherlands (pelvis) Jan (J.) Kooloos, PhD, anatomist em., Radboud University Nijmegen, dept. Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal and Femoral Canal and Structures in Inguinal and Femoral Hernia Surgery - English labels

3D model of the Inguinal and Femoral Canal and Structures relevant for Inguinal and Femoral Hernia Surgery. This model focuses on the structures relevant to understand the inguinal canal and femoral canal, including the structures relevant in surgery for inguinal and femoral hernia's. Surgically relevant structures that are present include: inferior epigastric artery to obturator artery connection (corona mortis), lacunar ligament (Gimbernath), iliopubic tract, inguinal triangle (Hesselbach's), iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves, etc.. Overlays (green transparent) are used to show structures with specific names that are part of larger structures. For instance: lacunar ligament, reflected inguinal ligament, iliopubic tract, femoral sheath, femoral canal, femoral ring, deep and superficial inguinal rings, inguinal (Hesselbach's) triangle, conjoint tendon, medial and lateral crus of superficial inguinal ring. Most of these overlays are initially hidden, but they can be shown via the menu. This model contains a selection of the structures that are present in the model 'Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal and Femoral Canal and Surrounding Regions - English labels' The source model was created by the AnatomyTOOL Open3D Model Project.
