Guide Mendeley

Mendeley is a program that can easily store your information sources. You can also add notes or the full text if you like. You can put your information sources into folders and share these folders with other people. You can tag each source with keywords so you can easily find your sources in Mendeley. In short, you can create your own digital 'library' with your own structure.

Game Development with Students

The project Game Development with Students introduces interested educators to an innovative teaching tool with practical insights from the international relations classroom. Game development with students is a specialized form of game-based and project-based learning. It incentivizes both student creativity and in-class student-teacher co-creation and enables a particularly participative and result-oriented approach to the subject matter. The method is thematically flexible enough to travel across different fields of study and is adaptable to different levels of complexity. To enable other educators to implement this innovative teaching tool, we develop instructional materials (an educators handbook as well as educational videos), providing both general information on the experiential, game-based learning theory undergirding the method as well as practical, hands-on tips and trick on how to implement it in different educational settings. In doing so, we address the important, interconnected educational challenges of the transferability and sustainability of teacher developed tools.

Open3DAnatomy - 3D model Inguinal and Femoral Canal and Surrounding Regions - English labels

3D model of the Inguinal and Femoral Canal and widely surrounding Regions. To see the posterior view of the inguinal area, as seen during laparascopic inguinal hernia approach, in the menu, click the groups 'Posterior trunk part' and 'Posterior thigh part'. This will hide all structures in the back, en bloc. Surgically relevant structures that are present include: inferior epigastric artery to obturator artery connection (corona mortis), lacunar ligament (Gimbernath), iliopubic tract, inguinal triangle (Hesselbach's), iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves, etc.. Overlays (green transparent) are used to show*** structures with specific names that are part of larger structures. For instance: lacunar ligament, reflected inguinal ligament, iliopubic tract, femoral sheath, femoral canal, femoral ring, deep and superficial inguinal rings, inguinal (Hesselbach's) triangle, conjoint tendon, medial and lateral crus of superficial inguinal ring. The source model was created by the AnatomyTOOL Open3D Model Project.* Anatomical content: O. Paul Gobée, MD, anatomist, Leiden University Medical Center, dept. Introduction to data management as part of Open Science

Data management is part of the research cycle. It is crucial to think about it in the design phase of any experiment. This self-study module gives you hands on advice on what to do (and what NOT) with research data. It is not about (statistical) data analysis. This self-study module helps students get familiar with setting up their data management plan. As it’s an introduction to this topic, it is for students at beginner level. After completing this self-study module, you should be able to answer the following questions: What do I store? Where do I store? How can others understand what I stored? Why should I care?
