OER at Utrecht University

Utrecht University is fully committed to openness. Developing reusable digital educational resources, storing them, and making them available to others contribute to this. By sharing educational resources openly, lecturers can learn from each other and be inspired by the work of others. It also makes it easier for lecturers and support staff to show where your expertise lies in the field of educational resources.

Sharing educational resources

Publishing educational resources in edusources is done via SURFsharekit. This is a digital repository for educational resources, among other things. After material has been uploaded to SURFsharekit, it can be shared via edusources. SURF offers several manuals for uploading and publishing educational resources.

To ensure the quality of the shared educational resources, the library has set four preconditions. The educational resources:

  • is published under open licence.
  • respects the copyright of others.
  • includes correctly filled in metadata fields (in SURFsharekit).
  • does not contain any (sensitive) personal data.

The library offers support on these topics. Would you like to discuss the possibilities of open educational resources or are you experiencing problems? Please contact the library at library.learning@uu.nl.
