OER at Saxion University of Applied Sciences

At Saxion University of Applied Sciences, we support lecturers in sharing their educational resources and encourage the reuse of existing materials created by others. The Saxion educational vision states that both sharing and reusing open educational resources is important in education.

"Educational resources are offered openly online as much as possible so that others inside and outside Saxion can also make use of them. Conversely, Saxion also uses open educational resources developed by others in order to make use of the expertise available worldwide."

Sharing educational resources

You can share your own educational resources for reuse on edusources. For more information, contact the Saxion Library.

At Saxion, we support lecturers in both sharing their own educational resources and reusing open educational resources.

To share educational resources externally (outside Saxion), they must meet a number of conditions:

  • The material is readable and editable by others (think, for example, of language, format and content).
  • It must comply with the rules of copyright; for this, see the Saxion Library website.
  • It must have a licence that allows reuse of the material. See here for an explanation of Creative Commons licences.

For internal sharing of educational resources within Saxion with one's own students or colleagues, the easy access regulation (Only available in Dutch) applies. In this, part of the use and sharing of other people's material is bought off for internal use. For open sharing outside Saxion, this arrangement does not apply.
