OER at University of Groningen

Open Education is one of the pillars of the Open Science Programme of the University of Groningen. Therefore, we help and support lecturers who want to make use of open educational resources and share their own materials openly with the world.

Sharing educational resources

The open educational resources team is happy to help share open materials via SURFsharekit and edusources. For more information on sharing, you can always email the team at oer-library@rug.nl, or check out our Open Educational Resources for Teachers LibGuide for a detailed description of the process.

To ensure the smooth sharing of OERs, we ask lecturers to ensure that their materials meet the following requirements.

The educational resources comply with copyright rules, such as the use of open materials and consistently stating the source of materials originating from third parties.
The educational resources have an open, Creative Commons licence, matching the licences of other materials incorporated in the educational resources.
The educational resources are made as readable, editable, and style-neutral as possible so that it is easy for others to reuse and adapt the materials.

The open educational resources team can support lecturers on all these points.
