Introduction Open Data Governance and Use
Open data is becoming ubiquitous and has enormous potential for creating value. Value can only be created if open data is used, and usage requires data governance. Data governance concerns the ability to collect, search, process, visualize and distribute data in such a way that it is fit for use. In the end, data governance should facilitate easy use, and in this way, help to create value from open data. To make students familiar with this topic, we selected some materials from the online course ‘Open Data Governance and Use’ offered by TU Delft. The selected materials concern: Introduction to the concept of Open Data Governance and Use and key characteristics. Challenges for Open Data Publication and Use. Analysis of the theoretical foundations in this field. . Attached is the syllabus of the course mentioned above as well as the link to all videos.
